Adam's Apple is a composition by Wayne Shorter and the title track of his 1967 Blue Note album Adam's Apple. The album, recorded in February 1966 at Van Gelder Studio and released in October 1967, is a post-bop hard bop set featuring Shorter with Herbie Hancock, Reggie Workman, and Joe Chambers. The piece showcases Shorter's lyrical tenor and inventive improvisation, and the record is notable for including the first recording of his soon-to-be-famousFootprints, which Miles Davis later recorded on Miles Smiles. The CD reissue adds the Herbie Hancock composition The Collector as a bonus track. The original track runs about 6 minutes and 49 seconds.
