It was originally performed on the 1972 LP A Canção e a Voz de Marília Medalha na Poesia de Vinícius de Moraes, with Vinícius de Moraes as producer. The recording was released by Som Livre as a LP in 1972 and later reissued on CD by Universal Music in 2001. The tune sits in the Bossa Nova / MPB tradition and its lyrics tell of a longing to run away with a loved one to a place where they can be happy, listen to the sea, and love freely, with nods to Pasárgada and Shangri-lá. It is track 8 on that album.
