All in Love Is Fair is a pop/R&B ballad by Stevie Wonder from his 1973 album Innervisions. Written and produced by Wonder, the song uses cliché lines to tell of two people nearing the end of a relationship, supported by Wonder on acoustic piano and Fender Rhodes with Scott Edwards on bass, in the key of C-sharp minor, and running about 3 minutes 41 seconds. It was recorded in New York in late 1972 to early 1973, and although not released as a US single, a 7" Brazil release appeared in 1974 paired with Too High. Barbra Streisand covered the song in 1974 for The Way We Were, produced by Tommy LiPuma, and it reached number 63 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and and number 10 on Easy Listening. The tune has been recorded by many artists and remains a staple of Wonder’s greatest-hits collections.
