Barbara is a jazz tune written and performed by Horace Silver. It first appeared on the 1975 Blue Note release Silver 'N Brass, a brass-forward hard bop album that runs about 7 1/2 minutes. A live Horace Silver Quintet version was later issued in June 1977 as part of the Livelove Series, Vol. 2 (with a 2014 reissue available). The piece showcases Silver’s catchy melodies and bright brass textures typical of his post-bop style.
