Black Narcissus is the title track of Joe Henderson’s 1977 jazz album Black Narcissus. The tune is one of the original pieces on the album, which Henderson recorded between 1974 and 1976 in Paris and Berkeley and released early in 1977 on Milestone. The track runs 5:09 and features Henderson on tenor sax, Joachim Kühn on piano, Patrick Gleeson on synthesizer, Jean-Francois Jenny-Clark and David Friesen on bass, Daniel Humair and Jack DeJohnette on drums, with Bill Summers on congas. The album blends jazz with electric textures and also includes Good Morning Heartache, Power to the People, Amoeba, Hindsight and Forethought, and The Other Side of Right. It was produced by Orrin Keepnews and Joe Henderson and was Henderson’s last release for Milestone.
