C'est si bon is a French popular song - composed in 1947 by Henri Betti with French lyrics by André Hornez, and with English lyrics by Jerry Seelen in 1949 - that became a worldwide foxtrot-style standard. The melody reportedly came to Betti in Nice and he finished it in under ten minutes - the title was chosen because it is three syllables sung to the first three notes. It was first performed live by Suzy Delair - and the first studio recording was Jacques Hélian and his Orchestra with Jean Marco in February 1948. Louis Armstrong recorded the American version in 1950, helping popularize it across the globe. Since then the song has been recorded in many languages and on numerous albums by artists such as Eartha Kitt, Barbra Streisand, Dean Martin, Yves Montand, Caterina Valente, and others.
