Chega de Saudade, also known in English as No More Blues, is a Brazilian bossa nova song written by Antônio Carlos Jobim (music) and Vinícius de Moraes (lyrics). It was first recorded in 1957 by Elizeth Cardoso and released in 1958 on the album Canção do Amor Demais, with Jobim arranging and João Gilberto on guitar. A few months later, Gilberto released a 1958 single with Bim Bom on the B-side, and his later 1959 album Chega de Saudade helped launch the new style. The tune is widely regarded as the birth of bossa nova and remains one of its defining standards. The English version No More Blues features lyrics by Jon Hendricks and Jessie Cavanaugh and the song has been widely covered and celebrated, including a Grammy Hall of Fame induction for Gilberto’s recording in 2000. Rolling Stone Brasil named it the sixth greatest Brazilian song.
