Corcovado, known in English as Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars, is a bossa nova song and jazz standard written by Antônio Carlos Jobim in 1960. The Portuguese title refers to the Corcovado mountain in Rio de Janeiro. One of the early recordings appears on João Gilberto's 1960 album O Amor, o Sorriso e a Flor. English lyrics were later added by Gene Lees, and Tony Bennett released the first popular English cover in 1963 with Buddy Kaye lyrics. The tune has since become a jazz standard with notable versions by Miles Davis, Stan Getz and João Gilberto on Getz/Gilberto (1963), Elis Regina and Tom Jobim, among many others.
