Crepuscule is a 1941 jazz tune by Django Reinhardt and le Quintette du Hot Club de France. It appeared as the B-side to Vendredi 13 on a 10-inch shellac single released in France in 1941. The piece was recorded in Paris on September 11, 1941, and is credited to Francis Blanche and Django Reinhardt. The session features Hubert Rostaing on clarinet, Tony Rovira on bass, Pierre Fouad on drums, and Django Reinhardt with Eugène Vées on guitars. The track runs about 3 minutes and sits in the Swing genre. The tune was originally instrumental, but in 1943 lyrics were added by Blanche and Reinhardt, with Lys Gauty recording a sung version; it has since been played less often in gypsy jazz, though it influenced later versions such as Jo Privat’s.
