Crosscurrent is a jazz tune written by Lennie Tristano that was recorded in 1949 by his sextet and later released on the 1972 Capitol album Crosscurrents. The track features Tristano on piano with Warne Marsh (tenor), Lee Konitz (alto), Billy Bauer (guitar), Arnold Fishkin (bass), and either Harold Granowsky or Denzil Best on drums. The album Crosscurrents collects these early sessions and is noted for some of the earliest free improvisation in jazz, including Intuition and Digression. The album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2013. Genre: Jazz.
