Dedicated to You is a 1930s pop and jazz standard written by Sammy Cahn, Saul Chaplin, and Hy Zaret. It was first recorded and released by Andy Kirk and His Clouds of Joy with Pha Terrell on December 9, 1936 (released in 1937). The tune quickly became a popular big band and vocal number, with early releases by Tommy Dorsey, the Mills Brothers with Ella Fitzgerald, and Bob Wills in 1937. Over the decades it has been performed in many styles, including instrumental versions by Freddie Hubbard on The Body and the Soul (1963) and a 1963 jazz collaboration by John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman.
