Deluge is an original composition by Wayne Shorter, heard on his 1965 Blue Note album JuJu. A post-bop modal outing, the track runs 6:49 and features Shorter with McCoy Tyner on piano, Reggie Workman on bass, and Elvin Jones on drums - the Coltrane rhythm section that backs Shorter here. JuJu, Shorter's fifth album, was recorded in August 1964 at Van Gelder Studio and released in July 1965, produced by Alfred Lion. The tune showcases Shorter's distinctive harmonic voice within the post-bop milieu.
