Devil May Care is a jazz vocal-piano tune by Bob Dorough, originally released in 1956 as the title track of his debut album Devil May Care. The album, issued by Bethlehem Records, features Dorough on piano and vocals with Bill Takus on bass, Jack Segal on drums, Warren Fitzgerald on trumpet, and Jack Hitchcock on vibraphone. The set blends bop and cool jazz influences with Dorough's witty lyrics, delivering standards such as Old Devil Moon, Yardbird Suite, Baltimore Oriole and Johnny One Note alongside the title track, which he co-wrote with Terrell Kirk. The release is categorized as jazz and vocal jazz, and has been reissued on CD multiple times, including a 1996 Bethlehem reissue and a later 2005 edition with bonus tracks. Devil May Care marks Dorough’s first leader date and remains a notable early example of his distinctive blend of singing, piano playing, and clever lyricism.
