Dindi is a Brazilian tune composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim with Portuguese lyrics by Aloysio de Oliveira and English lyrics by Ray Gilbert. It is a world famous bossa nova and jazz standard written for the Brazilian singer Sylvia Telles, who first recorded it in 1959 on Amor de Gente Moça, with a 1960 release on Amor em Hi-Fi. The title refers to a farm named Dirindi in Brazil that Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes visited. An English version was added and both Jobim and Astrud Gilberto recorded it in 1965. The song has been covered by many artists including Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald.
