- Don't Come Home A-Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind) is a country song made famous by Loretta Lynn, released as a single in November 1966 and included on the album of the same name.
- It was recorded on October 5, 1966 at Bradley's Barn in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, runs 2:09, and was produced by Owen Bradley with background vocals by the Jordanaires; the song was written by Loretta Lynn and Peggy Sue Wright.
- The lyrics tell of an angry wife who won’t tolerate her husband coming home late, drunk and demanding marital rights, a scenario drawn from Lynn’s own life.
- The track became Lynn’s first No. 1 country hit in February 1967 and helped her become the first female CMA Female Vocalist of the Year later that year; it also boosted the success of the accompanying album.
- In 1970 the single/album earned RIAA gold status, making Lynn the first woman in country music to achieve that honor; the song has since received lasting recognition, ranking No. 38 on Rolling Stone’s 2024 list of the 200 Greatest Country Songs of All Time and No. 47 on CMT’s 200 Greatest Country Songs of All Time (2003).
