Don't Know Why is a jazz pop ballad written by Jesse Harris. It originally appeared on his 1999 album Jesse Harris & the Ferdinandos. Norah Jones covered the song and released it as her debut single on January 28, 2002, from the album Come Away with Me on Blue Note. The track, which runs about 3 minutes and 6 seconds, became a worldwide hit, reaching number 30 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and charting in several countries. It earned three Grammy Awards in 2003 for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
