Don't Worry 'Bout Me is a 1938 song composed by Rube Bloom with lyrics by Ted Koehler. It was introduced by Cab Calloway in the Cotton Club Parade during the World’s Fair edition in 1939, and the first hit recording was Hal Kemp and His Orchestra with Bob Allen on vocals in 1939. Over the years it has become a jazz standard and has been recorded by many great artists, including Billie Holiday (1959), Ella Fitzgerald with Count Basie, Sarah Vaughan, Frank Sinatra (1954 hit single which peaked at No. 17), Stan Getz, and the Dave Brubeck Quartet. The lyrics describe ending a relationship amicably and moving on, with the idea that you should not worry about me because I will get along. Musically it is a lush, major key ballad known for its rich harmonies and swinging yet emotional mood; the original key was Ab major and its form follows a traditional A1 - B - A2 - C structure.
