Dreamsville is a mid tempo jazz ballad from the 1950s detective-noir TV series Peter Gunn. It was written by Henry Mancini with lyrics by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans. The original release was an instrumental by Henry Mancini and his orchestra in December 1958, with a vocal version by Lola Albright backed by Mancini’s ensemble issued in 1959 on Columbia Records CL 1327. The song is closely tied to the Peter Gunn soundtrack and helps define the show's cool jazz mood. It has since appeared on other Mancini releases such as Our Man in Hollywood on RCA Victor, and it has been covered by many artists, becoming a jazz standard associated with Mancini’s Peter Gunn legacy.
