Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar is a 1959 bossa nova jazz standard composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes. The first recording was by Brazilian singer Maysa, released in 1959 on her album Maysa É Maysa... É Maysa, Maysa It! The song later appeared as the 13th track on Vinícius de Moraes's 1970 album En La Fusa con Maria Creuza y Toquinho, recorded in Buenos Aires. It is considered a landmark of the genre and was voted the 24th greatest Brazilian song by Rolling Stone Brasil. The tune has been widely covered by artists such as João Gilberto, Caetano Veloso, Elis Regina, Gal Costa and Vinícius de Moraes, with translations in English, French and Spanish by artists including Gloria Estefan. Lyrically, it is a romantic vow to love someone for life, through farewells and absence.
