Falling in Love with Love is a show tune from the Rodgers and Hart musical The Boys from Syracuse, introduced by Muriel Angelus on Broadway when it opened in 1938. The song is written for a waltz and its lyrics reflect the musical’s skeptical mood. It was composed by Richard Rodgers with lyrics by Lorenz Hart.
Since its debut, the tune has been widely recorded on many albums by a range of artists, including Julie Andrews on Julie Andrews Sings (1958), Dinah Shore on Dinah, Yes Indeed! (1959), Frank Sinatra on Sinatra Swings (1961), and Wes Montgomery on Far Wes (1958). In the 1940 film version of The Boys from Syracuse, Allan Jones performed it.
