Fields of Gold is a 1993 pop ballad by English musician Sting, from his fourth solo album Ten Summoner's Tales. Released as a single on June 7, 1993, the song tells a nostalgic love story set among barley fields in Wiltshire, with imagery of the west wind and fields of gold. Co-produced by Sting and Hugh Padgham, it features Brendan Power on harmonica and Kathryn Tickell on Northumbrian smallpipes, and was recorded at Lake House in Wiltshire. It was a international hit, reaching No. 16 in the UK, No. 23 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and No. 2 in Canada, and it won a BMI Pop Songs Award in 1994. The music video, directed by Kevin Godley, shows Sting as a gold silhouette walking through a village. The track has been covered by Eva Cassidy and Katie Melua, and Sting re-recorded it in 2006 for Songs from the Labyrinth with a lute.
