Fotografia, also known as Photograph, is a bossa nova tune written and composed by Antônio Carlos Jobim in 1959. It was one of Jobim's first songs where he wrote both the music and the Portuguese lyrics, with English lyrics by Ray Gilbert published in 1965. The first recording was Sylvia Telles in 1959 on Amor de Gente Moça (Musicas De Antonio Carlos Jobim). Jobim later recorded an English vocal version on the 1967 album A Certain Mr. Jobim, and the song has since been covered by many artists including Astrud Gilberto on The Astrud Gilberto Album (1965), Elis Regina & Tom Jobim on Elis & Tom (1974), Ella Fitzgerald on Ella Abraça Jobim (1981), and Flora Purim on Perpetual Emotion (2001). The tune is a celebrated example of bossa nova and is often noted for its flirtatious romance and a late afternoon love affair ending in a goodbye kiss.
