Hideaway is a jazz fusion tune by American saxophonist David Sanborn and the title track of his fifth studio album Hideaway, released in 1980. Written by Sanborn, the track opens the album and runs about 5:53 on the original vinyl, with a shorter 3:47 edit issued on current digital releases. The album was recorded in 1979 at Celebration Recording Studios in New York and produced by Michael Colina for Warner Bros. It features a stellar lineup including Steve Gadd, Marcus Miller, Don Grolnick, Hiram Bullock, David Spinozza, and others, blending jazz, funk, and R&B textures. Hideaway reached number two on the Billboard Jazz chart and number 33 on the R&B chart. The cover shows a sunset along a shoreline, and the album includes other tracks such as Carly's Song and The Seduction, the latter by Giorgio Moroder not included on early LP pressings.
