Hot Stuff is a 1979 disco-rock single by Donna Summer, released as the lead single from her seventh studio album Bad Girls. It was written by Harold Faltermeyer, Keith Forsey and Pete Bellotte and produced by Giorgio Moroder and Bellotte, and it shows Summer moving beyond pure disco with a strong rock influence and a guitar solo by Jeff "Skunk" Baxter. The track topped the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Summer's second of four number-one hits, and it won the Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance. It also topped the US Dance Club Songs chart and earned Platinum certification. A longer 12-inch edition exists, and a 2018 remix by Ralphi Rosario and Erick Ibiza reached number one on the US Dance Club Songs chart. In 2020 Kygo released a new remix with an accompanying video. Hot Stuff remains a landmark crossover that helped broaden Donna Summer’s musical range.
