I Don't Know Enough About You is a pop-jazz standard performed by Peggy Lee with Dave Barbour and His Orchestra. It was first issued as Capitol 236 in February 1946, based on the December 26, 1945 recording at Radio Recorders in Los Angeles; an alternate take from July 16, 1946 exists. The song was co written by Peggy Lee and Dave Barbour and became a hit in 1946, later appearing on the Rendezvous with Peggy Lee album released around 1948-49 and on numerous reissues. Musically it sits in the Great American Songbook with an intricate chromatic opening, an AABA form, and a harmony built on ii-V progressions. Two studio versions and a Capitol transcription version circulate among collectors, making this one of Lee's early signature songs and a hallmark of her collaboration with Barbour.
