I'm All Smiles is a song written by Michael Leonard and Herbert Martin for the Broadway musical The Yearling, which opened in 1965. The tune tells a bright, hopeful story and quickly became a jazz and pop standard. The first recording and release was Barbra Streisand in 1964, arranged and conducted by Ray Ellis. Since then it has been covered widely on albums by many artists, including Andy Williams (1965), Jack Jones (1965), Nancy Wilson (1965), Joanie Sommers (1966), Lana Cantrell (1967), and Hank Jones with Tommy Flanagan (1983). Instrumental versions appear on albums such as Hampton Hawesâs 1966 session released in 1973. The song remains a popular piece in both vocal jazz and Broadway ballad repertoires.
