Insensiblement is a French song composed by Paul Misraki. The original recording and release were in July 1942 by Ray Ventura y su orquesta de jazz, with the French refrain sung by Misraki. It is a chanson with jazz influence that has become a standard, with many vocal and instrumental versions over the years. The tune sparked an English adaptation titled Now I Understand by Reg Connelly in 1946. An early instrumental version was recorded by Django Reinhardt with Le Quintette du Hot Club de France in 1947. Other notable versions include Renée Lebas (1945), Jean Cavall (with Orchestra directed by Peter Akister, 1946), Ray Ventura et ses Collégiens (1946), Jean Sablon (1947 and 1952), Jane Morgan (1956), Sacha Distel (1958), and Yves Montand (1959). There is no single original album for Insensiblement; it circulated as a single and has appeared on numerous artists and compilation releases. Modern interpretations continue to emerge, such as a 2024 rendition by Tatiana Eva-Marie.
