(Up A) Lazy River is a jazz and pop standard published in 1930. It originated as a collaboration between Sidney Arodin, who composed the melody, and Hoagy Carmichael, who arranged the tune and modified the lyrics. The song has been recorded by many artists and remains a staple of 1930s jazz standards. Notable charting versions include Bobby Darin’s 1961 hit reaching No. 14 on the Hot 100, and Si Zentner's 1961 recording that reached No. 19 in Canada. The tune also lends its title to Leon Redbone's album Up a Lazy River.
