Let's Get Away from It All is a traditional pop standard written by Matt Dennis (music) and Tom Adair (lyrics), published in 1941. It was first recorded and released by Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra with Connie Haines, Frank Sinatra, and The Pied Pipers; the recording was made on February 17, 1941 and the single released on April 11, 1941. The song is most closely associated with Frank Sinatra, who later included it on his Come Fly with Me album (1958). The tune has been covered by many artists including Martha Tilton and Harry Babbitt (1950), Patti Page (1958), Della Reese (1960) on the album Della, Louis Prima and Keely Smith (1960) on Together, and Rosemary Clooney (1994) on Still on the Road. The Supremes performed it in a medley with The Lady Is a Tramp during the 1960s, a version that appears on Live at London's Talk of the Town (1968).
