Ligia is a Brazilian song composed in 1972 by Antonio Carlos Jobim and dedicated to Lygia Marina de Moraes. It was first recorded by Chico Buarque for the 1974 MPB album Sinal Fechado, released on Philips. The track runs about 2 minutes and 52 seconds. The lyrics tell of a narrator who fears that after a first romantic encounter only one person will fall in love deeply and that the love may not be returned, prompting a struggle against an unwinnable romance. Chico Buarque contributed revised lines for the recording, which was made during a period of censorship, and the tune has also been recorded by Stan Getz and João Gilberto, among others. A 1981 live version was performed in Belo Horizonte at the Grande Teatro do Palácio das Artes.
