Lua Soberana translates to Sovereign Moon. It is a Brazilian MPB tune written by Ivan Lins with lyrics by Vítor Martins, originally performed by Ivan Lins. It first appeared on the 2005 album Regência Ivan Lins, The Metropole Orchestra & Vince Mendoza, which pairs Lins's songs with orchestral arrangements by Vince Mendoza and the Metropole Orchestra. A later 2009 version features the same orchestral concept in a live/recorded performance with The Metropole Orchestra.
