Moon Alley is a jazz composition by trumpeter Tom Harrell and the title track of the 1985 album Moon Alley by the Tom Harrell Quintet. The album was released December 22, 1985 and recorded at Van Gelder Studios in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, with a post-bop, trumpet jazz sensibility. Harrell wrote five of the seven tunes on the date, and Moon Alley runs 8:36. The group features Kenny Garrett on alto saxophone and Kenny Barron on piano, with Rudy Van Gelder engineering the session, giving the record a sound reminiscent of 1960s Blue Note sessions. The album also includes Harrell's interpretation of Charlie Parker's Scrapple from the Apple.
