Moon Mist is a jazz instrumental ballad composed by Mercer Ellington and first recorded by Duke Ellington and His Famous Orchestra in 1942, with the initial recording on January 21, 1942 and the release on April 10, 1942. The tune was written for Charlie Parker with Strings, and Mercer Ellington later arranged it for Parker's 1950 With Strings session, though that date was not recorded.
