Night Fever is a disco song by the Bee Gees, written by Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. It first appeared on the 1978 Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. The track was recorded in 1977 in France and Miami and released as a single in January 1978. It reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks and stayed in the top 10 for 13 weeks, helping the Bee Gees tie the Beatles for the record of most consecutive US number-one singles. The B-side features a live version of Down the Road from the album Here at Last... Bee Gees... Live. The song opens with a string intro inspired by Percy Faith's Theme from A Summer Place, and its success solidified the soundtrack as a disco landmark, with Night Fever later appearing in Mystery Men and other films.
