Novo Tempo is a Brazilian MPB/Latin tune by Ivan Lins with lyrics by Vitor Martins. It was released in 1980 on the EMI album Novo Tempo, issued in Portugal as a gatefold LP. The track, composed by Ivan Lins, runs about 4 minutes and 55 seconds and features lush arrangements with keyboards, brass, and strings, credited to a large accompanying ensemble including Gilson Peranzzetta and Renato Corrêa. The lyrics speak of a new time amidst punishment and danger, conveying resilience and hope for the future.
