Oh! Darling is a rhythm and blues rock song by the Beatles, appearing as the fourth track on their 1969 album Abbey Road. It was written primarily by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon–McCartney, with the working title Oh! Darling (I'll Never Do You No Harm). The basic track was recorded in 1969 at EMI Studios in London, and McCartney delivered a famously strenuous lead vocal after days of careful practice to sound like a live, on‑stage performance; the song is in the key of A major and runs about 3 minutes 27 seconds. The music draws on 1950s rock and roll ballads, doo‑wop, and Louisiana swamp pop, giving it a retro vibe within Abbey Road’s closing suite. Although not released as a UK or US single, it was issued as a regional single in Central America and appeared in Japan on a Here Comes the Sun release in 1970. It has been covered by Robin Gibb for the Sgt. Pepper soundtrack in 1978, and The Beatles never performed it live during their career; Paul later sang it as a duet with Chrissie Hynde at the Taylor Hawkins tribute in 2022.
