Olhos nos Olhos is a Brazilian MPB/pop song written by Chico Buarque and first released in 1976 on the album Meus Caros Amigos. The original recording is by Chico Buarque, and the tune has also been performed in a notable version with Maria Bethânia. The lyrics tell of a woman who, after being left by her lover, chooses happiness and resilience, promising to be found changed when he next seeks her out and to look him in the eyes to see how he handles her happiness. She notes that many waters have flowed and that many men have loved her more and better, while still offering that if he ever needs her, the house will always be his. The track appears as track 3 on Meus Caros Amigos and is produced by Sérgio de Carvalho.
