Peel Me a Grape is a witty jazz vocal tune written by Dave Frishberg. It was first released in August 1962 by Anita O'Day with Cal Tjader, a recording produced by John Hammond. Frishberg originally wrote the song for Fran Jeffries and it became his first published lyric after Frank Loesser published it. The tune has since become a jazz standard and has been covered by many artists, including Blossom Dearie, Diana Krall, and Ramsey Lewis with Nancy Wilson, renowned for its clever, urbane lyrics and swinging groove.
