Perhaps is a bebop jazz tune written by Charlie Parker. It was first recorded and released in 1948 by Charlie Parker's All Stars during the Savoy and Dial sessions, with the date September 24, 1948 and released as Savoy 938 on a 78 rpm shellac single; the B side is Marmaduke. The original lineup includes Charlie Parker on alto, Miles Davis on trumpet, John Lewis on piano, Curly Russell on bass, Max Roach on drums, with Teddy Reig directing. The track captures Parker's quintessential Bird blues approach and bebop vocabulary, featuring triplets, turns and rapid sequences. Although initially issued as a single, the tune has been covered and issued on many compilations and later albums by various artists since 1948.
