P.S. I Love You is a 1934 popular song with music by Gordon Jenkins and lyrics by Johnny Mercer. The original hit version was recorded by Rudy Vallée and released as a single by RCA Victor in 1934. The song tells of someone writing a love letter to his partner and has since become a standard. It was revived in 1953 by The Hilltoppers, again in the 1960s by The Vogues, and in 1984 by Tom T. Hall. Notable covers include Billie Holiday in 1954 for Verve, later featured on the 1999 reissue of Lady Sings the Blues, as well as versions by Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Diana Krall, Nancy LaMott and others. The tune is generally regarded as a traditional pop standard with jazz and pop interpretations and has appeared on many albums and soundtracks.
