Recorda Me, meaning Remember Me in Portuguese, is a jazz standard composed by Joe Henderson. It was introduced on his Blue Note debut album Page One, released in 1963 (recorded June 3, 1963). The tune is a Latin-tinged hard bop piece with a 16-bar, through-composed form and a bossa nova feel. Henderson wrote it when he was 15, and it has since become a staple in jazz education and performance. The Page One session also featured the first recording of Kenny Dorham’s Blue Bossa. English lyrics were later added by Kelley Johnson under the title Remember Me, and the song has been widely covered by many artists in various formats, from small ensembles to big bands.
