Reincarnation of a Lovebird is a jazz studio album by Charles Mingus, recorded in November 1960 and released in 1988 on Candid Records. The session features a stellar lineup including Eric Dolphy, Roy Eldridge, Booker Ervin, Charles McPherson, Tommy Flanagan, and Mingus on bass, with Nat Hentoff as producer. It was recorded at Nola Penthouse Studios in New York City and runs about 45 minutes. The track list mixes Mingus originals such as Reincarnation of a Lovebird No 2, R and R, and Bugs with standards like Wrap Your Troubles In Dreams and Body and Soul. The release came decades after the recording when Candid Records closed and was later revived by Alan Bates; this Mingus title should not be confused with other releases bearing the same name or with UK reissues of The Clown retitled Reincarnation of a Lovebird.
