Setembro is a Brazilian MPB tune written by Ivan Lins and Gilson Peranzzetta. It was first released in 1980 by Ivan Lins. The song gained wider exposure when it appeared on Quincy Jones's 1989 album Back On The Block in a vocalise arrangement. Since then it has been covered many times by artists such as Pedro Aznar (1982) and Fausto Papetti (1991) in various instrumental and vocal versions. The tune sits within MPB with Latin jazz influences and is considered a Brazilian pop-jazz standard.
