Seule ce soir, also known as Je suis seule ce soir, is a French chanson created by Léo Marjane in 1941 with lyrics by Rose Noël and Jean Casanova and music by Paul Durand, published by Europa. It was first recorded by Assia de Busny on July 21, 1941, and then by Léo Marjane on July 29, 1941. The song, restrained and modest in tone, became a huge success during the German occupation because it spoke to many French women whose husbands were prisoners of war. It has been covered by many artists, including Lucienne Delyle, Juliette Gréco, Mireille Mathieu, Simone Langlois, Assia de Busny, André Claveau, Michel Louvain, Jacqueline François, Charles Dumont, Mona Goya in the 1943 film Donne-moi tes yeux, and Hana Hegerová. In 2011 it appears in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris.
