Sexy Sadie is a rock song by the English group The Beatles, written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon-McCartney. It was written in India during the Beatles' 1968 stay with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and appears on their 1968 double album The Beatles, commonly known as the White Album. The song was inspired by Lennon's disillusionment after an alleged sexual advance by the Maharishi toward Mia Farrow and was originally titled Maharishi before George Harrison urged Lennon to rename it. In the recording, Lennon sings lead with Paul McCartney on bass and keyboards, George Harrison on lead guitar, and Ringo Starr on drums, with George Martin producing. It is often described as an early diss track and is part of the album's diverse rock and pop rock mix, with Esher demos and a long studio process surrounding its final version.
