S'posin' is a jazz standard written by Paul Denniker and Andy Razaf, released in 1929 as a fox-trot. The first recording was by Bob Haring and His Orchestra in April 1929, and a 1929 version by Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra with Bing Crosby helped popularize it. The song was published by Triangle Music Publishing in New York and quickly became a dance-floor favorite with numerous 1929–1930s covers. A notable later recording appears on Miles Davis's 1956 album Miles: The New Miles Davis Quintet, with John Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers, and Philly Joe Jones. S'posin' is widely regarded as a jazz standard and is often performed as a fox-trot or dance orchestra piece.
