Street Life is a 1979 jazz-funk single by The Crusaders from the album Street Life. The lead vocals are by Randy Crawford, with music by Joe Sample and lyrics by Will Jennings; it was produced by Wilton Felder, Stix Hooper, and Joe Sample and released on MCA Records. The song reached number 36 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 5 on the UK Singles Chart. Its inspiration came from the chaos of a beginner slope at Mammoth Mountain, California, described by Sample as a boulevard of madness, with Jennings drawing on Hollywood Boulevard for the lyrics. The track exists in a 3:58 single version, an 11:18 album version, and a 7:50 US disco mix, and Crawford's vocal helped launch her career; it has since been used in Sharky’s Machine, Jackie Brown, Better Call Saul, and the GTA V WorldWide FM radio station.
