The single version runs 3 minutes 12 seconds while the album version is 5 minutes 45 seconds. The song reached No 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No 5 on the Hot Soul Singles chart. The album topped the Billboard 200 and the Top Soul Albums charts and has been certified Triple Platinum in the US; it features the hit Shining Star, which went to No 1 on both the Hot 100 and Hot Soul Singles and won a Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
