The More I See You is a 1945 pop song written by Harry Warren and Mack Gordon. It was introduced by Dick Haymes in the 1945 film Diamond Horseshoe, where it was played as an overture under the opening credits and used throughout the score. Since then it has become a standard and has been recorded by many artists—Chet Baker on a 1958 LP, Chris Montez’s 1966 version which charted in the US and UK, and later performances by Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Sinatra, Andy Williams, Nina Simone, and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. The tune sits at the crossroads of pop and jazz and remains a popular easy listening staple.
