Think of One is an original jazz composition by Thelonious Monk. It appears on the 1956 Prestige compilation Monk, which collects Monk's material recorded for Prestige in 1953–1954. On the album it is issued in two takes on Side 2, Take 2 at 5:47 and Take 1 at 5:37. The compilation features two different quintets — one with Julius Watkins, Sonny Rollins, Percy Heath and Willie Jones, and another with Ray Copeland, Frank Foster, Curly Russell and Art Blakey — and its sessions were recorded at Rudy Van Gelder Studio in Hackensack, NJ (May 11, 1954) and WOR Studios in New York City (November 13, 1953). The genre is jazz, and the tune showcases Monk’s distinctive modernist bebop style.
